Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI) is pioneering an innovative training programme for counselling survivors of sexual violence in a post-pandemic world. The new programme, which is called Counselling Survivors On- and Off-Line, uses at its core the rape crisis model of specialist sexual violence trauma responses. It will gather evidence and understanding around the impact of dealing with the trauma of sexual violence in a pandemic world, and how practitioners have responded. From this, we want to create training and standards for counsellors that will ensure that survivors of sexual violence have access to the highest level of support. The following survey is part of this project.
This survey is open to survivors of all forms of sexual violence and harassment, as well as to the people who have supported them. We want to hear about your experiences of accessing and attending counselling and therapy. We won’t ask you to discuss in detail your experience of sexual violence, however we will collect some profile information.
All of the information collected in this survey is totally anonymous, and will only be used for the purposes of RCNI clinical innovation. Please give us as much detail as you can in your answers as it will help to inform us when creating this training. The survey should take you no longer than 20 minutes to complete. If you have difficulty completing the survey please contact comms@rcni.ie.
*This survey will be available from the 15th March to the 12th April, 2021.
