Cooley Camino
for Rape Crisis North East

rcne-camino

On Sunday 12th September, the ‘Cooley Camino for Rape Crisis North East’ will take place starting in Carlingford Village car park, guided by Clodagh McKevitt of Anam Tours. This 10k sponsored walk will go up the mountain via the Tain Way, veer left towards Barnavave and the cross, down by the deserted village and back via scenic route facing the Mourne Mountains to the Foy Centre for refreshments. We are asking participants to try and raise €100 in sponsorship via our facebook donate page or cash/cheque sponsorship or via our website. Our vital service is dealing with unprecedented demand at the moment and our waiting list is growing at an alarming rate. We cover Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan. We hope you enjoy this day and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to you for signing up for this event. Tee Shirts will be provided for collection or distribution on the day. Start time 10.30am.

Walkers should try and arrive early, the car park by the sea front can get quite full in Carlingford! Hiking boots would be a requirement along with wet gear and water. This is a challenging walk with the first hour uphill, the second hour is less challenging but the terrain if wet can be soggy. With a bit of luck we will have a sunny day for this spectacular range of views. Should the walk provide too much for some participants, we have leaders for varying levels.

• We will have collection points for T-Shirts in advance or via distribution on the day.
• Please bring wet-gear, hiking boots and water. The walk is a challenge but all levels will be catered for with various leaders.
