Rape Crisis North East CLG was established in 1996 and has evolved into a unique and specialised counselling and support service for women, men, boys and girls who have suffered as a result of rape, sexual abuse, sexual assault, sexual harassment and childhood sexual abuse. Based in Dundalk with services in Drogheda and Castleblayney, Rape Crisis North East provides a range of intervention supports to survivors of all forms of sexual violence within Louth, Meath, Monaghan and Cavan. Supports available include a face to face counselling, crisis intervention, freephone confidential helpline support, information, advocacy, accompaniment to the courts, medical services and gardaí accompaniment.
Rape Crisis North East is the only dedicated and specialised service in the entire North East Region of Ireland available to survivors of rape and sexual violence.
The centre is open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Rape Crisis North East is an active member of Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI). RCNI is a representative umbrella body who supports the work of member Rape Crisis Centres throughout Ireland and aims to influence national policy and social change through extensive data collection and by raising public awareness about the realities of sexual violence.
